JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Product Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Classification: Exempt

Job Summary

The Product Engineer will play a key role in the development of innovative solutions to solve the problems facing today’s farmers worldwide through designing, testing, and supporting the manufacturing process of agricultural equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.S. in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering

• Approximately 5+ years of engineering experience; ag equipment engineering experience preferred

• 3-D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)

• Mechanical design experience required; hydraulic and electrical systems preferred

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and see them through to completion

• A team-first approach that focuses on the success of the whole team

• Strong communication skills and ability to work across all departments within the company

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience in the process of moving a project from design to prototype build to testing

Job Responsibilities

• Create and maintain CAD models

• Coordinate with multiple departments in order to build prototypes for testing, both large and small scale

• Maintaining drawings and bill of materials based on design changes

• Work across multiple product lines

• Utilize a design-for-manufacturing approach that fits the context of Amity’s manufacturing processes and environment

• Analyze test data to draw conclusions for implementation in the next design iteration

• Incorporate voice of the customer into product development and design

• Research new technology to recommend advances to current systems, products, and methods

• Provide hands-on support in the field for product testing

• Service-oriented approach with customers when testing in the field

• Determine suitable testing parameters to assess design features and identify areas of improvement

• Coordinate with vendors to develop long-term solutions to design problems

• Travel required: approximately 10%
